I WAS WRONG

“I couldn’t give a fiddlers what I weight I’d rather feel confident, comfortable and fit into my clothes better!” – Aimee hit the nail on the head with that one.

As a long term client in RevFit Aimee really “gets it” better than most. It’s not just about being stronger (that’s awesome), it’s not just about looking better (although that’s cool) and it’s not just about feeling great (…not that that’s a bad thing!!) but it’s the summation of all of that, and more, totally changing everything about your life.

As she said – “Joining the gym is like driving a car for the first time. You’ve an idea of how it works but you’re not 100% sure. It’s kinda scary and your thinking I could kill someone or myself. But it’s not too long until you get the hang of it and your cruisin’ with your shades on thinking you’re deadly!”

What changes have you noticed since you took part in the Femme Fatale Transformation Program?
I have lost weight but not a huge amount however I lost a lot of inches and to be honest I couldn’t give a fiddlers what I weight I’d rather feel confident, comfortable and fit into my clothes better!

Although my weight hasn’t gone down a huge amount I get a lot of comments of people asking if I have lost weight and I really want to say “not really, I’ve replaced fat with muscle and dropped inches and I’m strong as fuck!” and I do to people I know are serious about the gym, not the weight watchers fans…

I surprised myself quite quickly that I was really into seeing my strength increase, really didn’t see that one coming and I love it. I find now I’m alot more educated in what I’m putting into my body. Less food doesn’t = weight loss, surprisingly more of the right food = weight loss. I get slightly panicked if I dont go to the gym. Everyone regrets not going to the gym, no one regrets going!

What sorta impact has it had on your life? (…and do you still get to go out and enjoy yourself?)
I go to RevFit then do what ever I want! Its one hour out of your day 3 times a week! Ok weekends have more temptations however just prep your shit and be prepared! I still have a bold treat if I want it, I still have a drink I’m just smart about my choices.

What made you bite the bullet and join?
I felt fat, unattractive and sad because I was stuck in a rut, I’d tried so many things and nothing worked.

What’s been your biggest success so far?
I would say is a range of things. Having a knowledge of foods is a huge success! And its not rabbit food! I’m proud of a few things – I’m strong, like actually strong and I don’t look like a bodybuilder! [Aimee’s got a 120kg deadlift!!] I still look like a girl. Thats a success and proud for my strength.

This might be a bit odd, I always had a big bum I hated it. Now I’m actually pretty proud of it and its because other GIRLS I train with say it to me. The gym has whipped it into pretty good shape. Its a good shape, its pretty solid.

What was your biggest fear prior to joining?
My fear was that i was going to be the worst person that ever walked in. The weakest, slowest, fattest, etc.

I was terrified I wasn’t going to be able to keep up or i wasn’t going to be physically able to do the programme.

I WAS WRONG

Any advice for people before they start?
I joined doing 1 to 1 sessions because i was too embarrassed to go into a class. I did this for 3 months at my pace and ability. What my ability actually was and what I thought it was were two very different things and I was coached and pushed with such great help that I progressed so much.

I do classes now and I love it. Everyone is genuinely there help and push each other and sometimes thats really what you need. Seeing other peoples progress and sharing stories really helps. and having someone to give you that extra push.

Its not full of posers or creeps. Its people that are serious about training and like being around people of the same mindset.

Joining the gym is like driving a car for the first time. You’ve an idea of how it works but you’re not 100% sure. It’s kinda scary and your thinking I could kill someone or myself. But it’s not too long until you get the hang of it and your cruisin’ with your shades on thinking you’re deadly!

Oh and you’ll laugh, alot while your bum hurts from DOMS.
