The Real Reason You’re Not Losing Weight

The reason you’re not losing weight is because you’re eating too many calories.

That’s it. It’s the only reason.

Unless you’re one of the VERY FEW people with a legitimate medical issue, the reason you can’t lose weight is because you’re consistently eating too many calories for your current energy out put level.

“No matter what I do, I can’t lose weight” is a statement that haunts me as I sleep at this stage.

The truth is, in a long term calorie deficit everyone will lose weight. It’s simply impossible not to.

So, if you DO find that you’re not losing weight despite eating a calorie deficit, try this…

Stop lying to me.

I’m not saying you’re doing it on purpose, I just know for a fact that over the last 30 days you haven’t created a big enough or consistent enough calorie deficit for weight loss.

If you had, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

It’s not because you’re eating late at night. That doesn’t change anything once calorie intake is at the right level.

It’s not because you’re only eating twice per day. That doesn’t change anything once calorie intake is at the right level.

It’s not because you’re snacking too much. That doesn’t change anything once calorie intake is at the right level.

The ONLY reason you’re not losing weight is because you’re eating too many calories.

Now, it could be because someone’s set a diet up for you that’s completely inappropriate, or you’re eating the wrong foods to improve adherence to a calorie deficit. But that doesn’t change the fact that…

The reason you’re not losing weight is because you’re eating too many calories.

Your exercise routine probably isn’t costing you as many calories as you think either. Stick a fitbit or heart rate monitor on next time you train. You’ll probably see a calorie expenditure of 400-600 calories per hours if you’re following a weight training program.

Maybe 600-800 if you’re doing some kind of HIIT bootcamp.

But one thing you WON’T see is regular 1,000+ calorie workouts (no matter what your bootcamp trainer claims) because you simply don’t have enough fuel coming in to sustain that kind of effort long term…

…unless you’re eating too many calories. Which is kinda my point because…

The reason you’re not losing weight is because you’re eating too many calories.

Does it sound like I’m being a dick? Maybe.

But that doesn’t change the fact that the reason you’re not losing weight is because you’re eating too many calories.

So, what the hell are you supposed to do then?

That’s a discussion for tomorrow’s mail.

Though the answer basically comes back to “just come in to us and we’ll lay out the plan for you”. And if you’ve got some momentum and don’t wanna wait, get in touch here and I’l be back to you inside 24 hours to get you booked in for an intro session 🙂
